On May 17 Cymbaline will perform their new EP Gegenwelt Live at ACU. They’ll be joined by Service from Nijmegen.
CYMBALINE
Cymbaline is an act from Utrecht, making music with analog synthesizers, crappy drum computers and lo-fi vocals. Their music draws heavily on 70s underground and sounds like a combination of British new wave and German krautrock. Dark and recalcitrant music, with an ever-present touch of melancholy. In 2021, Cymbaline signed with German record label Young & Cold records. After releasing several singles and a cassette tape, they released their debut album ‘Computerleven’ in 2022. Spring 2024 will see the release of their new EP ‘Gegenwelt ’’.

SERVICE
SERVICE sounds like music for a party that has just begun or has just ended.The curtain that falls – or opens. With their atmospheric and sometimes dark synths SERVICE bring dreamy but also danceable melancholy with a silver lining, that feels both familiar and strange.
After the release of ‘(love) remains,’ the duo continued to work on new material. A small step into the limelight followed last Halloween with a first live show at a house party, which immediately tasted like more. In 2024, SERVICE will release new work and regularly appear on stages amid the fog of smoke machines.
