This is the first in our “Black & White By Choice” series that we will host throughout the year (roughly once per month). These are films that are filmed or presented entirely in black and white well past the introduction of colour film. So why is the film in black and white? There can be a few reasons – costs, aesthetic, visual effects, film rating, or as an homage to past works – and we’ll discuss those briefly before we screen the film.

Please note: tonight’s film contains strong gore and disturbing surreal imagery as well as some intense sound design.

Pasthei! is a radical film club, most Sundays in ACU. We’re not a cinema, but a group of friendly folks who like to watch weird films together and chat about them at the bar. Interested in joining?
