Within our “B&Why” series. These are films that are filmed or presented entirely in black and white well past the introduction of colour film. So why is the film in black and white? There can be a few reasons – costs, aesthetic, visual effects, film rating, or as an homage to past works – and we’ll discuss those briefly before we screen the film.

What film are we watching today? Here are a few clues: It’s in black and white, it’s very appropriate for this time of year, and it stars Gene Wilder.

 

Pasthei! is a radical film club, various Sundays in ACU. We’re not a cinema, but a group of friendly folks who like to watch weird films together and chat about them at the bar.
