ACU is 100% volunteer run and non-profit.

As we approach ACU’s 50th anniversary (March 26–27), we of course hope to keep going strong for many more years. Places like ACU are indispensable in our society.

To keep this going, we depend on, yes, you guessed it, money. It may sound a bit capitalist for an anarchist space like ACU, but we also have to deal with many (high) fixed costs (think rent, insurances, gas, water, electricity, maintenance of the building, and all technical equipment). We’ve been running for decades without structural funding (aside from COVID support), which allows us to remain independent and non-commercial.

We want to keep our prices low and make sure ACU stays accessible to everyone, going out (and life in general) is already expensive enough. So if you’d like to help us keep it that way, there’s no better birthday gift you could give us than:

Donated money can be used for the following:

• Major maintenance, such as maintaining the floor
• Maintaining and upgrading gear and equipment
• Non day to day expenses like: Buying sanitary products for in the toilets.
