come in alone is the beating heart of the shoegaze scene in the netherlands. kicking off in early 2025, three sold-out editions have brought the best of dutch shoegaze to acu. so what better way to close off an amazing year of shoegaze than with nevin, crashing and coaster?
this edition of come in alone will explore different directions in which the shoegaze and dreampop aesthetic is being pushed in the present-day scene. the night will start with a look to the slower, dreamier and more intimate side as created by coaster and nevin, and then close with a bang with crashing’s high-energy, wall-of-sound shoegaze. bring earplugs, bring a friend or come in alone 🙂
coaster melds a dreamy and ethereal aesthetic with influences from the lo-fi and slowcore acts of the 90s and 00s. the utrecht-based duo, fronted by bart appel and paul dijkman, captures memories and atmospheres and converts them into intimate dream pop. Their melancholy music is all about resilience and appreciating the little moments in life.
nevin is a rising dutch artist making waves with her dreamy indie pop, marked by a raw emotional edge. her music flows seamlessly between vulnerability and strength, captivating audiences both live and in the studio. after a standout year in 2023 – earning recognition as oor talent during the popronde, opening for feeder and circuit des yeux, and performing at tivolivredenburg – nevin continues to turn heads. her latest single feel, released on april 18, was met with high praise and features a stunning, atmospheric video. lefuturewave calls her “the superstar of tomorrow,” noting that her unique sound defies comparison.
after a legendary closing set at the first ever come in alone, crashing is back with new music! inspired by shoegaze and alt-rock giants like dinosaur jr. and my bloody valentine, crashing is conducted by songwriter jasper smits. with a strong emphasis on diy culture and by blending contemporary genres and textures alike, crashing indulges in noisy reverberated hooks, intense live performances and raw unfiltered volume. bring earplugs.
