We’re here for our second event!

Welcome to Callosum, an evening where you will hear talks about current research and topics from local PhD students, post-docs and scientists and then take part in an artist lead workshop. (Discounted Early Bird tickets available.)

Ana Apeiron, a PhD candidate researcher at Utrecht University will be presenting her work:

“What do you mean by that?” – Definitions from the intersection of AI, philosophy, and design.

How do you translate human concepts into machine-readable code? What do abstract ideas such as responsibility and autonomy look like in artificial agents, like AI? We need to give these agents clear rules on how to behave, but the concepts they need to understand aren’t clear. Using the formalisation of consent as a case study, I invite you to think along with me as we explore how these representations can impact us in a technologically-saturated world.
